Frog Vol Report: NFL Week Four 9-30-08
Another Monday , another game of football, and I was prepared for another shootout as the Ravens (2-1) traveled to Pittsburgh (3-1). For two weeks straight I have watched teams run up the score like a squirrel up a tree, so I was ready for another battle.
However this was a different kind of battle, a defensive one, as the Steelers pulled it out in overtime 23-20. This was a tuff game for the running backs as the Ravens lost running back Willis McGahee to an injury and the Steelers lost running back Rashard Mendenhall and his replacement Carey Davis as well.
Frog Vol Report: NFL Week Two
It looked more like an arena football game than the NFL as the Dallas Cowboys (2-0) and Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) played on Monday Night Football this week. Offense was definitely working for both teams and the Cowboys won the shoot-out 41-37.
Rookie DeSean Jackson made one of the biggest ‘bonehead’ moves I have ever seen when he celebrated a 61 yard pass from Donovan McNabb by throwing the ball down before he entered the end zone.
Some stats from Mondays game total yards for the Eagles 337 <259 passing, 78 rushing>, one turnover; Cowboys total yards 380 <312 passing, 68 rushing> two turnovers.
The 54 first-half points were second-most in a Monday night game. … A kickoff that was returned for a touchdown by Felix Jones was the first in the regular season for the Cowboys since 2003. … Owens also broke a tie for the second-most games with multiple touchdowns.
