Tennessee 13 Northern Illinois 9.
A new quarterback got his start this week and the receivers apparently were not expecting the ball to actually make it within their grasps, as several passes were dropped. Nick Stephens went 10 for 17 with 156 yards including a 52 yard touchdown pass (longest play of the season) to Denarius Moore.
Defense once again held true by only giving up 190 yards in total offense. Eric Berry proved once again that he is a major threat to all opposing offenses as he grabbed a interception from Northern Illinois quarterback Dan Nicholson on a third-and-14 and returned it 48 yards.
The new quarterback starting helped sell tickets but it was still not a sell-out as only 99,539 were in attendance, 2,500 short of a sell-out.
Tennessee travels to Athens for a SEC East showdown between the hedges against the Bulldogs on Saturday October 11th. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

Where the Offense?
Tennessee had at least five chances to win this game and could not do it on Saturday as they lost at Auburn 14-12. A new quarterback may be in the mix this week as the Vols prepare for a home game against Northern Illinois on Saturday October 4th at 7pm. The game will be aired per pay-per-view, however I do not see them making that much off of this game as the Vols have had trouble pleasing the crowds with their lackluster performance on the offensive side of the ball so far this season.
Defense, however is still one of the best in the SEC.
